Indoor Swimming Pool Finckensteinallee
The swimming pool, opened in 1938, was energetically renovated in 2014. Previously, the pool rested on a system of pendulum falls that absorbed all the movements of the pool. The hall with a hight of 15 metres had partially retractable windows, expensive building materials, complex technical equipment and underwater floodlights. After renovation, the indoor swimming pool in Finckensteinallee is a modern, completely renovated sports pool. The old pool could not be restored; the new pool has exactly the same size as the historic pool. The heating, ventilation and water treatment system have been renewed, pollutants have been disposed of and the roof has been re-covered. The granite slabs surrounding the bathroom and the shell limestone walls were retained. The hall has a new lighting concept and the wardrobes and showers have been redesigned. Due to the energetic renewal the BBB are able to save est. 212 tons of CO₂ per year.
